Owning the store is a victory condition. You can reach it through a direct buyout or a completed mortgage, and the buyout victory allows you to continue playing.

Check your current buyout price#

Rent is due on Sundays. The community reference lists 12,000 credits as the Normal-difficulty starting buyout price, with different difficulty values and later increases. It is not a fixed target for every run.

Use your current calendar and Landlord offer when budgeting. Keep rent and operating expenses separate from the money you are saving toward ownership.

Buying outright#

The direct purchase is offered through the Landlord’s rent-day interaction when you can afford the buyout. Saving enough for an old screenshot’s price is not sufficient if your current quote has increased.

Before paying, leave working cash for the stock and services you want to use afterward. Owning the premises does not supply those items for you.

  1. Check the current buyout amount in your run.
  2. Keep enough cash available for the Landlord interaction.
  3. Choose the purchase option when it is offered.

The mortgage route#

The community guide also describes a Loan Shark mortgage with a down payment and continuing installments. The final payment completes ownership. Missed payments can lead to repossession of goods, so compare the payment schedule with your actual income.

This is a different cash-flow commitment from buying outright. Read the offered terms in your run before accepting it.

Does buying the store end the game?#

It triggers a victory summary, but you can continue after this buyout ending. The official release preview shows the ownership results screen with a Continue button, and the endings reference describes both outright purchase and the final mortgage payment as routes to this victory.

That does not mean every failure or ending permits continuation. This answer concerns the successful store-ownership ending.

The buyout victory screen includes Continue. The displayed price and statistics belong to this example run.

What can you do after ownership?#

Continue running the shop and developing the systems you enjoy. The official 1.0.0.5 notes specifically fix the Merchant’s Sunday visits after buying the store, confirming that post-purchase trading is supported.

Choose your next business project based on equipment and stock you already understand, rather than treating the victory screen as a requirement to restart.
