How to get rid of radioactive waste

Take radioactive waste to the Dumping Ground, understand Georgio’s return event and avoid relying on trash-can exploits.

Use an after-hours trip to the Dumping Ground to discard radioactive waste. Expect a possible return event; ordinary overnight trash collection does not remove hazardous waste.

Why radioactive waste needs a plan#

The item reference lists waste deliveries from the Corporate Waste Manager and waste produced by a Nuclear Reactor. Accepting a delivery creates an inventory and disposal problem as well as a payment opportunity.

That reference describes a large barrel occupying a 3-by-4 area. Check available space before accepting a load; its static-analysis build is 0.46D / 26337366, not a guarantee about every later event or payout.

Take it to the Dumping Ground#

The Dumping Ground reference describes this as the place where carried items can be dropped. Prepare the waste before leaving the shop and check what you are carrying when you return.

  1. Finish trading and close the shop.
  2. Prepare the waste you intend to carry on the evening trip.
  3. Use the door to travel to the Dumping Ground.
  4. Move the unwanted waste onto the ground there, rather than keeping it in carried storage.
  5. Return to the shop and check your inventory again.

Why did Georgio bring the waste back?#

Community sources describe a one-time return event after dumping nuclear waste. They disagree about its scope: one guide calls it the first barrel, while the static-analysis reference describes a recorded quantity being returned.

Do not assume that discarding one barrel makes the rest permanently disappear. Check the returned load and plan another disposal trip if needed. The available references do not justify a universal one-barrel rule.

Why the trash can is not the answer#

The nightly-services reference explicitly excludes hazardous waste from normal janitorial removal. Leaving a barrel in the trash is therefore not a reliable disposal plan.

Some guides describe hiding waste in a crate and using the trash as a workaround. That is presented as a bug-dependent trick; it is excluded from the normal steps here.

Account for the evening trip#

An evening trip normally means one fewer random customer the following day, except with Short Sleeper. Carry only what you intend to manage, and avoid turning a disposal trip into unnecessary scavenging if your immediate goal is clearing space.
